Update on planned protests – 23 May 2020

protest 38After a three month hiatus to make way for community quarantine protests are beginning to restart, prompted by the multiple whammy of orders emanating in Beijing, including national anthem/flag law, security/treason laws, imposition of committee chairs in Legco, intervention in educational matters as well as the seeming whitewash of the IPCC report etc etc. Expect things to heat up over the next few weeks.

23 – 24 May 2020: 2:00 – 6:00 pm Play “Glory to Hong Kong”with you. Various “Yellow”shops around Hong Kong

24 May 2020: 1:00 pm Anti-national anthem law march. Sogo/Southorn Playground

27 May 2020: TBC. Besiege the LegCo against the national anthem law. LegCo

7 June 2020: TBC. Kowloon march of re-ignition. Venue TBC.

12 June 2020: 7:00 – 9:00 pm. “May freedom reignite” rally. Tamar Park

16 June 2020: 2:30 pm. 6.16 Anniversary march. Victoria Park.

28 June 2020: 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Mourning of love heritage. Edinburgh Place.

1 July 2020: TBC. March on Establishment Day. Venue TBC.

19 July 2020: 2:30 pm. Yuen Long march. Yuen Long station to Shui Pin Wai Playground.

This update only lists actions that are planned in advance. As we know this is only the tip of the iceberg – sing-along-protests take place every evening at shopping malls throughout Hong Kong. The various flash mobs cannot be predicted, so are not listed. Note that none of these gatherings have been authorised by HKPF.
