CHP confirms fifth Covid-19 case in Tiu Min Hoi Chuen

Yesterday (1/8) the Centre for Health Protection confirmed a fifth person had been tested positive for the Covid-19 virus in Tiu Min Hoi Chuen, Sai Kung.

The first case (#2359) was confirmed on 24 July and hospitalised. The patient, a 48-year-old local woman, was discharged on 1 August.  Before she was confined she was known to have visited Sai Kung Market on 22 July.

The second case (#2801) was confirmed on 28 July. The patient, a 63-year-old local man, was hospitalised on 28 July, where he remains. The third case (#2801) was also confirmed on 28 July. The 64-year-old local man had visited 20 Tak Lung Back Street on 22 July, and 14A Po Tung Road Wing Wo Seafood Restaurant on 23 July. He also remains in hospital.

The fourth case (#3143) was confirmed on 30 July. The patient is a 52-year-old local woman. And yesterday, 1 August, a 16-year-old woman was confirmed as case #3258. She is now also in hospital.

Tracking and tracing of the latest victims’ movements is underway, and this may indicate other places around Sai Kung that were visited during the days between onset of symptoms and positive confirmation of infection.
