For the past couple of days (25 – 26/9) Tseung Kwan O Police District, together with Sai Kung Division, Marine Police East Division and East Kowloon Region Response Brigade, conducted anti-burglary operations in Tseung Kwan O and the rural areas of Sai Kung, including high-profile patrols and publicity for community participation and improvement of security measures for village houses and villas.

In addition to patrolling the villages, the police also used the police vehicle broadcast system to remind villagers to lock doors and windows during the high-risk period from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Villagers should also notify the police immediately if they encounter suspicious persons.

Police also set up roadblocks on Clear Water Bay Road, Hiram’s Highway, Tai Mong Tsai Road and Sai Sha Road to intercept suspicious vehicles.

The police noted that the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays are approaching, and before leaving their homes or falling asleep, citizens must lock doors and windows, activate alarm bells and closed-circuit televisions to prevent thieves from taking advantage of them.
