Four boats go up in flames in Sai Kung typhoon shelter

A speedboat caught fire in the typhoon shelter in Sai Kung last night (24/1). The fire was intense and there was an explosion. No one was injured in the incident, but three other boats were destroyed in the conflagration.

The incident occurred at 7:00 pm when a 10-metere-long speedboat moored in the typhoon shelter opposite Lakeside Garden in Sai Kung suddenly caught fire. The fire was intense with smoke rising high into the air, and explosions were heard. 

The fire spread to three nearby speedboats, and several onlookers called the police for help after seeing the incident. Fire Services sent three appliances to fight the blaze. No one was injured. 

According to witnesses, someone was on one of the speedboats at the time of the incident but managed to escape. Police and fire services are investigating the cause of the fire.
