A wild boar was fatally injured when hit by a motorbike on Sai Sha Road, Sai Kung last evening (18/1). The accident occurred around 6:00pm near the junction of Sai Sha Road and Tai Ming Tsai Road.
The 39-year-old motorcyclist was driving towards Sai Kung when the boar ran out into the road. He tried to avoid the animal but the bike overturned after the boar had been hit.
A passing motorist called the police. When they arrived the police found the boar vomiting blood and in great pain. It died soon after. They moved it to the side of the road and notified relevant departments to come and deal with the body. The motorcyclist had injuries to his hands and feet and was taken to hospital for treatment.
