Police arresting the Taoist priest arrested for murder in September 2019

A bizarre murder occurred in Lung Mei Village, Sai Kung in September 2019. A 21-year-old woman with a learning disability was found dead in a village house covered with magic charms. Afterwards, a man who claimed to be a Taoist priest was charged with murder. Now, around 18 months later, the police arrested the deceased woman’s 53-year-old mother and charged her with the crime of aiding or abetting indecent assault. Today (18/3) she appeared before the Kwun Tong Magistrate’s Court. The magistrate adjourned the case until 29 March, and filed the case along with the Taoist murderer in the Eastern District Court. By then, the two cases will be merged and handed over to the High Court for trial.
