Police arrest two men in Lok Ma Chau for multiple burglaries in Tai Po and Sai Kung

On the afternoon of 17 May, police officers from the New Territories North Region conducted an anti-burglary operation at a unit in Ka Lung Road, Luk Mei Village, Lok Ma Chau, and arrested a 61-year-old local man and a man without identification documents.

Police investigations revealed that the two were involved in a number of earlier burglaries in Tai Po and Sai Kung. The two men were arrested for “assisting and abetting illegal immigrants”, “illegal immigration”, “possession of tools for illegal purposes” and “possession of firearms without a license”, and five cases of “breaking the law”. The case is being investigated and followed up by Team 2B of the New Territories North Regional Crime Squad. The arrested men are currently being detained for investigation.

During the operation, officers seized two suspected pepper sprays and a number of burglary tools, including screwdrivers, stylus, electric saws and stepladders, in the unit.
