Hong Kong champion cyclist Sarah Lee Wai-sze has been taking part in the cycling technology development trials
A sports aerodynamics science project jointly run by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the HK Sports Institute has completed two years of development, a press conference was told.
Adam Kwok, an executive director of Sun Hung Kai Property, who sponsored the scheme, said “. . . Winning or losing a cycling race comes down to a difference of split seconds. One area (of the project) has been the development of equipment that reduces wind drag or improves riding posture.” Secondly, he said the aim is to make Hong Kong an innovation and technology hub for sports science. The joint team will not only benefit Hong Kong’s cycling team, but China’s too.

The project is a joint effort by Dr Raymond So’s sports science team at the HKSI and Prof. Zhang Xin’s group at the HKUST.
