On 6 December 2020 a fire truck hit Benjamin Restrepo, a Columbian cyclist near Pak Sha Wan, killing him. The driver of the fire truck was charged with a crime of careless driving.
The case was brought before the Kwun Tong Court on 3 June. The prosecution applied in court to adjourn the case, saying that it would take time to obtain legal advice from the Department of Justice and await further investigation by the police. The magistrate then adjourned the case until 12 August, during which time the defendant was granted bail at HK$5,000.
