We had been shopping in the Old Town section of Sai Kung and my wife, Lauralynn, had purchased a large bouquet of cut flowers from the florist when she tripped and fell forward, on to her outstretched left hand.
This resulted in her breaking her wrist, going to the Tseung Kwan O Hospital A & E and spending 2 nights there! The Hospital provided Lauralynn with a “sling’ to ease the weight of the cast. I picked her up with her left arm cast in a homely gauze sling. Arriving back in Sai Kung, we stopped in SingaLing’s Restaurant.
One of the slings that Peggy made
We enjoy sitting outside on the right-hand side of the entrance and were aware of the tailor shop next door, (under the staircase!) Peggy, the owner, had done some minor alterations for us previously. Lauralynn mused aloud as to whether Peggy could create something more attractive as a sling, so we asked her. She most generously offered to make not one, but two most lovely silk slings, using leftover fabric.
And so, in the ensuing month, Lauralynn had her choice of two very attractive slings. (Is a sling ever really attractive?)
So we discovered that Peggy is not only an accomplished tailor, but a also a very creative one! Highly recommended!
