Air and land search continues for missing man after phone traced to Po Toi Island

On Saturday (30/10) the police appealed to members of the public to provide information on Wong Yuen Wah (黃苑華) a 31-year-old man went missing in Wong Tai Sin. Wang Nan lost contact after leaving his home in Tsz Wan Shan last Thursday (28/10) morning, and his family made a report to the police the next day. Rescuers arrived at the High Junk Peak area in Sai Kung where he had been planning to hike, to search, but found nothing. According to the local media, Wong’s mobile phone signal was located at 2:00 am (31/10) on Po Toi Island, and rescuers turned the search focus to the island. The Government Flying Service helicopter was called to to assist. The search and rescue operation is still ongoing.

Wong is about 1.7 metres tall and weighs about 52 kg. He is of thin build, with a pointed face and short black hair. When last seen he was wearing a black shirt, black sneakers and carrying a grey rucksack. Anyone who has information about the missing man should contact the Missing Person Investigation Team of the Kowloon East Region or any police station.
