Yesterday morning (6/4), a garbage truck was driving along Yung Shue O Road, Sai Kung, when the driver lost control, crashed down the hillside and fell into a small pond.
The driver and a worker travelling in the cab managed to escape and were not injured. The police blocked the scene of the accident for investigation, causing traffic delays.
18 metres of the steel fence along the roadside was demolished. The driver had an alcohol breath test, which recorded about 67 micrograms, which exceeded the legal driving limit. The 60-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and was detained for investigation.
