61-year-old man missing while hiking for two days; police and firefighters continue to search Mount Hallowes in Sai Kung

Cheung Kim-ming, aged 61, missing on Mount Hallowes, Hoi Ha, Sai Kung

Cheung Kim-ming, aged 61, went missing after he left his residence on Ha Heung Road on Saturday (27/8) morning. His family made a report to Police yesterday.

He is about 1.7 metres tall, 81 kilograms in weight and of fat build. He has a round face with yellow complexion and short white hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black trousers, black sneakers, and carrying a blue alpenstock and a black backpack.

Cheung planned to go to Mount Hallowes in Hoi Ha, Sai Kung for hiking. The police and firefighters have been searching the mountain for two days in a row, but nothing was found so far.

Owing to the extremely hot weather, the firefighters set up a special rest area at the foot of the mountain, and placed a number of stacking stools and a mobile air cooler, so that the searchers could stay a little longer.
