Hikers find body near Mount Hallowes, Sai Kung

Yesterday afternoon (17/9) police received a report from a hiker that a man’s body had found in the forest between Mount Hallowes and Nam Shan Tung in Sai Kung. When they arrived at the scene, the body was found decomposed and apparently dead for some time. The victim was about 60 years old.

Later, firefighters carried the body from the mountain to a section of Hoi Ha Road near the Pak Sha O Youth Hostel, with the body then transferred to the mortuary around 8:00 pm. After a preliminary investigation, police believed that the case was not suspicious, and it was temporarily classified as a “corpse discovery” case. It is reported that the police did not find a suicide note or any identity documents; the identity of the deceased is still under investigation.
