Hydraulic stabiliser arm of a crane lorry comes loose and pierces a seven-seater van on Sai Sha Road, Sai Kung (video)

At about 2:00 pm yesterday (29/7) on Sai Sha Road, near Kei Ling Ha Lo Wai, Sai Kung a seven-seater van was hit by part of a lorry driving in the opposite direction. As seen in the pictures online, the front of the van was damaged, and the hydraulic stabiliser arm of the crane lorry was also thrown from its mounting, piercing the passenger seat at the van’s rear, almost hitting the driver’s seat .

Fortunately, the driver of the van was injured but conscious, and reported the accident to the police for help. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

As seen in the online video clip, the crane lorry was driving along Sai Sha Road Road. After turning, the hydraulic stabiliser foot extended, and the seven-seater van on the opposite lane was unable to avoid it and was hit by the hydraulic foot. The crane truck driver and other drivers who followed got off the car to check the situation.
