Marina Cove, Sai Kung
Last Friday (25/11), around 2:00 pm, police received a report from the staff of Marina Cove in Sai Kung that the 68-year-old male security guard had lost contact with base and his personal belongings were still in the office. He was seen going to the beach near the yacht club earlier that day, and later his hat was found floating on the sea and his colleagues suspected that he had fallen into the sea.
Marine police and firefighters arrived at the scene to assist in the search around the yacht club, and sent frogmen to dive underwater to find the victim. Firefighters rescued the body at 6:20 pm, and he was confirmed dead on the spot. Preliminary investigations indicate that he slipped and fell into the sea near a yacht berth. The cause of death is yet to be determined after an autopsy.
