Unidentified body found near Clear Water Bay Second Beach

Fire Services frogmen search the area for clues

The body of a man in his sixties, wearing only swimming trunks, was found around noon on Tuesday (29/11), near the “Ha Shan Tuk Twisted Cave”, a popular tourist spot, on Tai Au Mun Road, Sai Kung, next to the Second Beach of Clear Water Bay.

The police and a marine police boat arrived at the scene after receiving the report, and personnel went ashore to investigate, with the fire department also sending frogmen to the scene to assist. The ambulancemen confirmed that the victim died at the scene after examination, and had been dead for some time.

Police officers investigating the scene found some of his personal belongings beside the body. He had no superficial injuries and his body was later returned to the Marine Police Base opposite Sai Kung by a fire boat. The police initially believe that the incident was not suspicious, but the identity of the victim was yet to be investigated, and the cause of death was to be determined after an autopsy.
