Hiram’s Highway vehicle pile-up puts six in hospital

A collision occurred on the Hiram’s Highway last night (27/6) near Pak Sha Wan. A Tesla car hit “an object”, lost control and hit a minibus. Six people were injured, all slightly, and were sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.

A dash cam filmed the incident. In the video, a Tesla car is seen driving along Hiram’s Highway towards Kowloon. It is suspected that it hit something as it was approaching the Pak Sha Wan Yacht Club. The Tesla lost control and turned 270 degrees clockwise with the rear of the vehicle hitting the right side of a green minibus travelling in the direction of Sai Kung. The minibus was pushed onto the pavement. After the accident, fragments of the car body and glass were scattered all over the place, and the right tail wheel of the Tesla was detached.

Several firefighters, police and ambulancemen were soon on the scene.

The police said that at 7:20 pm, a 33-year-old man was driving a Tesla along Hiram’s Highway towards Kowloon when it lost control and crossed into the path of the oncoming minibus. After the accident, the drivers of the two vehicles, as well as one male and two female minibus passengers reported dizziness, headaches and injuries in the mouth, jaw, neck, waist, chest or knees. They were all conscious and sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. The case was classified as a traffic accident.
