Two people hospitalised after yacht and ferry collide in Sai Kung (video)

Two boats collided in waters off Sai Kung yesterday (18/7). Around 4:00 pm, a ferry going from Sai Kung to Kau Sai Chau Jockey Club Pier collided with a pleasure yacht, injuring two passengers.

During the accident, a 75-year-old man on the yacht suffered from pains in his waist and arm, and a 65-year-old woman suffered dizziness and headache. They were all conscious and were sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment. After a preliminary investigation, the yacht involved was understood to have been travelling from the west of Kau Sai Chau to Sai Kung.

From the video footage posted online, a Chinese-style yacht carrying passengers collided head-on with the ferry.

The incident is being investigated by the relevant government departments.
