A refrigerated truck caught fire on Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung yesterday afternoon (23/11). Around 1:30 pm, the truck started emitting smoke and caught fire on the westbound section of Clear Water Bay Road opposite Clear Water Bay Knoll.
The fire briefly spread to nearby trees. Firefighters used a hose and smoke helmets to extinguish the fire, which took about half an hour. The front of the truck and the frame were burned. After a preliminary fire investigation, it was not ruled out that the cause of the fire was related to the truck’s air-conditioning system.
The accident closed part of the road section at the scene and the clean-up was completed around 3:35 p., during which traffic was blocked.
