Taxi heading to Sai Kung along Clear Water Bay Road loses control and plunges five metres down a hillside

Around 3:00 am this morning (13/1), a taxi carrying a passenger was travelling uphill on Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung and passing by 303 Clear Water Bay Road, near Good Hope School, when it suddenly lost control, crossed into the opposite traffic lane and onto the pavement.

It then crashed into an iron railing and slid down a hillside for about 5 metres. The front of the taxi hit the a tree at the bottom of the slope and then stopped.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene and rescued the 48-year-old taxi driver and his 23-year-old male passenger. They had sprained hands and feet respectively and were sent to the hospital for treatment in a conscious state.

It is reported that someone reported that the accident occurred due to dodging animals, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
