1.6 kgs of marijuana buds found in car stopped by police in Clear Water Bay

Around 9:00 pm last night (16/3) police noticed that the driver of a Mercedes-Benz car stopped at a bus stop in Mang Kung Uk, Sai Kung, was behaving suspiciously, and they stopped the vehicle for investigation. During the search, police officers found about 200 packages of suspected marijuana buds hidden in a bag in the front passenger seat. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of “drug trafficking” and was taken back to the police station for investigation.

According to reports the police believed that the driver wearing a mask was acting suspiciously. When they stopped and checked, they found a suspicious smell coming from the open window and a black plastic bag on the passenger seat which aroused their suspicion.

They also found 83 suspected marijuana cigarettes and three suspected marijuana tabs with a total market value of about $380,000. After preliminary investigation, the 34-year-old driver was arrested and is currently being detained for investigation. The case was handed over to the First Team of the Criminal Investigation Team of Tseung Kwan O Police District for follow-up.
