Human bones found on the seabed in Mun Wan, Sai Kung; identity pending

Yesterday afternoon (30/6), a woman reported to the police that while diving with her friends, they found suspected human bones 30 metres offshore in Mun Wan, Sai Kung, saying they were about 1.5 metres under the surface.

Marine police arrived at the scene and about 6:00 pm, they found the bones on the seabed about 50 metres offshore. They were said to be 16 pieces in total, about 60 centimetres long. Initial indications were that it was part of a male spine.

The bones taken to the Ma Liu Shui Marine Police Base by a Marine Police boat and then handed over to Tai Po Police Station where they will be examined by forensic doctors. The identity of the victim and the cause of the incident are yet to be investigated.
