Motorcyclist hospitalised after hitting, and fatally wounding, wild boar on Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung

Around midnight this morning (31/10), a motorcyclist driving along Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung collided with, and fatally injured, a wild boar near Hong Kong Adventist College.

The motorcyclist lost control while trying to avoid a wild boar that had suddenly rushed out of the road, and the bike flipped over; the wild boar was fatally injured. A passing motorist reported the incident to the police.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist was unconscious when taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment having injured in his hands and feet.

The police then notified the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department staff to come to the scene and remove the boar’s body. After the incident reporters at the scene saw another a wild boar running out of the wooded area near the scene of the incident. It was frightened and fled towards the mountainside.
