What’s On in Sai Kung: Curtain Call Conversations at The Hive 22 November

Growing up in a family of singers and musicians, there is no doubt that Myka could easily fall in love with the performing arts. She has been singing and dancing for as long as she can remember.

Myka continued her passion for the performing arts by taking part in numerous musical productions in Hong Kong. Recently, she made her debut with the Hong Kong Singers, portraying the character Mimi Marquez in their production of *RENT*. Currently, Myka is pursuing one of her dreams by working as a teacher in a playgroup centre. However, she still holds a strong desire to continue performing on stage and hopes to join larger-scale productions in the future.

Jaelen comes from a family of talented singers and has recently found a passion for performing in musical theatre. Jaelen is relatively new to the scene but has landed lead roles in a few productions, including Harper no. 6 from HKYAF’s original production of 24:7:365, Angel Dumott Schunard from The Hong Kong Singers’ production of RENT, and Moritz Stiefel in The Hong Kong Singers’ upcoming production of Spring Awakening. He is thrilled to be collaborating with the Hive Sai Kung and is looking forward to sharing his musical theatre experiences with the crowd.

Emilia has been performing since a young age, playing Marta and Brigitta Von Trapp in West End productions of The Sound of Music. She has been part of the ensemble in the UK Touring Production of Evita and has appeared in various HKYAF productions, including Fame and Melodia. Recently, she was the female lead and lyricist for the original play Close, which toured to the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Currently, she is excited to star as Wendla Bergmann in the Hong Kong Singers’ Production of Spring Awakening.

Miguel, from Hong Kong, is a passionate performer and educator. They graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts EXCEL with a BTEC Level 4 in Musical Theatre. Teaching since age 16, Miguel has performed notable roles such as Fagin in Oliver!, Asaka in Once on This Island, and Dick in the 2023 Pantomime Dick Whittington.

Petrina is a Year 2 undergraduate student at the University of Hong Kong. A few of her performing experiences in Hong Kong include RAW ACapella for the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park 2023: The Carnival of the Animals, The Hong Kong Singers’ RENT, and Spring Awakening (upcoming).
