65-year-old man fainted while hiking in Sai Kung and died in hospital

An elderly Hong Kong man collapsed and died during a hike in Sai Kung yesterday 15 December.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when the police received a report stating that a 65-year-old man among a group of nine people fell ill and fainted while hiking near Tung Wan at the scenic Tai Long Wan beach. The Government Flying Service dispatched a helicopter to take the victim to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan for emergency treatment. He fell into a coma when he was taken to the hospital and was later confirmed to have died.

They started their hike at Pak Tam Au at around 10:00 am.
