Early this morning (1 /1), around 5:20 am, police received a report from a woman who said she and her husband were riding bicycles along Sai Kung Man Yee Road to East Dam, and when her husband stopped to park his bicycle on the roadside, he suddenly fainted.
Ambulance and police arrived at the scene after receiving the report and found the 56-year-old male victim unconscious and sent him by ambulance to Prince of Wales hospital, during which paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
