Even the meekest mouse can roar like a lion – Kid’s Fest at APA

“In a dry dusty place where the sand sparkled gold

Stood a might flat rock, all craggy and old.

And under that rock in a tinyful house

Lived the littlest, quietest, meekest brown mouse . . .”

So begins the latest Kids Fest show at the Academy for Performing Arts. “The Lion Inside” is running until 16 February at the Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre. This show is just right for two to five years old.

The mouse feels small and insecure. He realises he needs to learn to roar like a lion. The mouse acts brave and approaches the lion, only to be amazed. The lion is frightened of mice!

The mouse comforts the lion and they become firm friends. We realise there is a mouse and a lion in all of us.

Tickets are $275 (view restricted) to $475.

The APA’s Kids Fest continues after the weekend with “The 13-Story Treehouse”, wherein you will find flying cats, a mermaid, a sea monster, an invasion of monkeys and a giant gorilla. Running from 16 to 23 February this show is for children six years of age and up.
