Passers-by assist motorcyclist knocked down on Hiram’s Highway in Pak Kong; biker fractures left foot

This morning at 8:20 am a car turning right from Pak Kong Road onto Hiram’s Highway in Sai Kung hit a motorcycle. The bike fell onto its side, and the rider fell in the middle of the road and was injured. Passers-by immediately stepped forward to provide assistance and called the police. After the paramedics arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary examination, they found that the injured person had a fractured left foot and abrasions on his left hand, but was conscious and was immediately sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The 51-year-old female driver of the car and the 44-year-old male motorcycle rider both passed the alcohol test.

Traffic along Hiram’s Highway was reduced to one lane causing travel delays; the Transport Department announced that two lane operation was resumed at 9:30 am.
