FSD boat joined the search last night
Around 9:00 pm last evening (12/8) emergency services received a report from a boat rental company employee that a “foreign” man had set out canoeing in Sha Ha but had not returned on time to return the canoe. The company also failed to contact the man, raising concerns that he had been in an accident
A large number of rescue personnel, including fireboats, Marine Department vessels, and police launches, rushed to search several islands off Sai Kung. However, as of 1:00 am today (13/8), no trace of the victim has been found. Rescue vessels continue to search nearby waters and islands, such as Sharp Island and Yim Tin Tsai. In addition, the Government Flying Service has dispatched a helicopter to hover over Sai Kung waters, assisting in the search and rescue operation from high altitude.
The missing man is about 38 years old, about 1.7 metres tall, thin, wearing dark clothes, a red life jacket and sneakers, and carrying a backpack.
