A burglary occurred in Clear Water Bay around 10:00 pm on Saturday (27/9). Police received a report that the door lock of a detached house at 688 Clear Water Bay Road had been pried open, there were obvious signs of a ransack inside the house, and some valuables were missing, suggesting a suspected burglary.
After reviewing CCTV footage, the victim spotted two men in white shirts and dark pants sneaking in and searching the house. He then reported the incident to the police. Police officers arrived at the scene and discovered a crowbar left on the terrace of a neighbouring house, which had been vacant for a year.
After a preliminary count, it was estimated that nine handbags, six watches, and other jewellery and cash had been stolen, totaling over $270,000 in lost property. Preliminary investigations indicate two men broke into the house from the hillside and subsequently fled along the same road.
The case is being classified as a burglary and is being handled by the Tseung Kwan O District Criminal Investigation Team 6. No arrests have been made at this time.
It is understood that the stolen handbags include famous brands such as LV, Prada, Christian Dior and YSL; the stolen watches include famous brands such as Gucci and Cartier.
