Bringing hearts together through art – Haven of Hope “Visions of Hope” Art Jamming Day inspires lives and community

Dr Tak-yi Chui led the participants in drawing

Haven of Hope Christian Service (HOHCS) held the “Visions of Hope” Community Art Jamming Day on 15 January at Haven of Hope Woo Ping Care & Attention Home, gathering people from different walks of life to create, connect and share hope through art.

The event was graced by the presence of Miss Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Dr Lam Ching-choi, Chief Executive of Haven of Hope, who joined in support of this meaningful initiative. Led by Dr Chui Tak Yi, former Under Secretary for Food and Health, the Art Jamming session brought together 50 participants, including elderly residents, mentally challenged students, healthcare professionals and corporate volunteers.

Officiating guests participated the drawing session

With brushes in hand and with hearts open, participants expressed care, creativity and encouragement on canvas. Each artwork, though simple in form, carried its own story and emotion. When all the pieces were brought together on a large canvas, they formed a powerful collective expression. With a few final touches by Dr Chui, the individual works were transformed into a single spontaneity painting—symbolising unity, kindness and the shared hope of the community. The completed artwork was meaningfully born within the Home, a testament to what can be created when people come together.

Haven of Hope Sunnyside School provides full-day special education and residential services for children and youth aged 6 to 18 with severe mental challenges, allowing them to learn, grow and live with dignity and care.
