At 11:16 a.m. today (28/1), a man reported to the police that he had been attacked with a dish by a woman at Wong Shek Camp Site on Pak Tam Road, Sai Kung. When the police arrived at the scene, the victim was not injured and did not require ambulance service. The case is currently being treated as assault.
The incident stemmed from a suspicion that a woman had damaged someone else’s campsite. The two parties failed to reach an agreement and got into an argument. During the argument, the woman became agitated and at one point brandished an axe.
According to reports from the scene, a mother and son had been camping at the location earlier. The mother allegedly damaged another group’s camping platform, demanding $150 yuan in compensation. The mother only offered $100, leading to an argument. The mother became agitated and briefly brandished an axe, but fortunately did not commit any assault. It is understood that the mother and son had been camping there for a month, and the other group involved in the dispute had also been camping there for some time.
Images circulating online, purportedly showing the incident, depict a large number of police officers at the scene, some wearing helmets and tactical vests.
