Tai Mong Tsai Road at Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung to be closed temporarily mornings of 10, 11 January

Transport department have announced the temporary closure of Tai Mong Tsai Road in Sai Kung to accommodate the China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon and the Community Chest Sun Hung Kai Properties Corporate Challenge 2026, on 10 and 11 January

9 and 10 January

i) The section of Tai Mong Tsai Road between Pak Tam Chung Physically Handicapped and Able-bodied Site and Sai Kung Man Yee Road, and the section of Sai Kung Man Yee Road from its junction with Tai Mong Tsai Road to a point about 4.6 kilometres south of the same junction, will be intermittently closed to all vehicular traffic (including green minibuses and taxis) from 7:00 am to 9:30 am on 10 January 2026.

ii) 18 metered parking spaces (nos. 28723A, 28723B, 28724A, 28724B, 28725A, 28725B, 28726A, 28726B, 28727A, 28727B, 28728A, 28728B, 28729A, 28729B, 28730A, 28730B, 28731A and 28731B), two accessible parking spaces and 21 coach parking spaces at Pak Tam Chung Car Park will be temporarily suspended from 6:00 pm on 9 January 2026 to 12:00 noon on 10 January 2026.

iii) During the road closure period of Sai Kung Man Yee Road, the service of New Territories Green Minibus Route No. 9A (Pak Tam Chung – High Island Reservoir, East Dam) will be temporarily adjusted subject to the actual traffic conditions. Taxis will be prohibited to enter Sai Kung Man Yee Road, until the reopening of the road.

11 January

i) The section of Tai Mong Tsai Road between Pak Tam Chung Physically Handicapped and Able-bodied Site and Sai Kung Man Yee Road will be intermittently closed from 7:25 am to 7:35 am and from 7:55 am to 8:05 am on 11 January 2026; and

ii) The section of Sai Kung Man Yee Road from its junction with Tai Mong Tsai Road to a point about 8.3 kilometres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm on 11 January 2026.

(iii) During the road closure period of Sai Kung Man Yee Road, the service of New Territories Green Minibus Route No. 9A (Pak Tam Chung – High Island Reservoir, East Dam) will be suspended from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, and taxis will be prohibited to enter Sai Kung Man Yee Road, until the reopening of the road.

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Actual implementation of the road closure and traffic control will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas.
