Village house in Clearwater Bay burgled, losing over HK$360,000 worth of valuables; police arrest a 28-year-old male suspect

A burglary occurred in Clearwater Bay. Police received a report from a 44-year-old foreign woman at Around 9:38 pm last night (17/3), police received a report stating that a village house unit in Tai Wong Kung Tsuen, Tai Au Mun Road, Sai Kung, showed signs of ransacking and she suspected that it had been burgled.

After a preliminary count, police officers at the scene found that a laptop, a tablet computer, a handbag worth about HK$15,000 cash, jewellery worth about HK$330,000, and foreign currency worth about HK$20,000 were missing from the unit, with a total loss of about HK$365,000.

Following an investigation, criminal investigators identified and located the suspect, and arrested a 28-year-old man near Hoi Sum Park, To Kwa Wan at 4:30 am this morning. All valuables in the case have been recovered, and the case has been classified as a “burglary” and handed over to the third team of the Tseung Kwan O Police District Criminal Investigation Team for investigation.
