Houses on Fung Sau Road have been burgled by thieves in the past. On 15 December 2015, three mainland Chinese from Guizhou broke into a detached house in the road with a knife and threatened a 39-year-old Italian citizen with a knife. The female householder was later tied up and the 40-year-old maid with tape. The burglars stole cash, jewellery, watches, cameras and other property and quickly fled. The two women untied themselves and rushed out of the house to seek help. The security guard patrolled by and immediately called the police. Police officers, who were conducting winter defence exercises at the time immediately chased the robbers nearby, and finally captured the two thieves and recovered about HK$300,000 in stolen goods.
