Female body found floating near Sai Kung New Public Pier

Around 6:00 am this morning (15/3) police received a report from a passer-by that a human-shaped object was floating about 4 to 5 metres offshore at the Sai Kung New Public Pier.

Paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene and rescued a woman who appeared to be about 70 years old. However, after examination, the woman was confirmed to be dead at the scene, and her body was taken back to the marine police base.

Police are investigating the identity of the deceased and why she was in the sea..
