The 24/7 Fitness gym in Central
The ex-ParknShop site on Fuk Man Road is to be occupied by a gymnasium, posters on the shutters announce. 24/7 Fitness has 300 branches in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay area, including another one in Sai Kung at Dock 1A.
24/7 Fitness employs personal trainers who will instruct you for $600 to $800 per session depending on how many you book. You will be able to use the gym by yourself for a month for $1050. Prices drop if you sign up for longer periods.

Ingrid Wong
The company is owned and led by Ingrid Wong, a Muay Thai enthusiast; many branches are operated by franchisees. 24/7 gyms are popular because they’re high tech — Ms Wong has an IT background — and because of the no-pre-payment model, allowing members to join without committing large sums upfront. They’re open 24 hours.

And just to remind our readers . . .
Sai Kung already has a gym that is especially ideal if you want to learn self-defence, or would like your child to do so. It is run by Andrew Wong Kee, a New Zealander who won national titles at boxing and karate, then fought in Abu Dhabi winning a world ju-jitsu championship. Andrew’s gym is opposite The Picture House above Poet’s on the second floor.
