A fatal traffic accident occurred in Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung around 12:45 am this morning (16/9), when a motorcycle travelling from Tai Au Mun Road towards Kowloon crashed while making a left turn near Clear Water Bay First Beach. The motorcyclist, apparently lost control and crashed into the left-hand curb.
The motorcyclist was thrown off balance and the motorcycle slid for about 15 metres before coming to a stop. The 21-year-old male victim, suffered multiple injuries and fell into a coma. He was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by ambulance for emergency treatment, but died at 1:27 am.
It is understood that the deceased man was not the owner of the motorcycle. Around 11:00 pm, he was driving a borrowed motorcycle with a friend from Sau Mau Ping towards Tai Au Mun Road.
The Special Investigation Team of the Traffic Department of the East Kowloon Regional Headquarters is following up on the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to provide is asked to contact the investigators at 3661 0259.
