Around 10:00 pm yesterday (9/9), police received a report from a 63-year-old man who found signs of ransacking in a room of his village house on Tai Mong Tsai Road, suspecting that it had been burgled.
Police officers responded and during the investigation, they received a report from another 63-year-old man, who also discovered that all the windows of his village house on the same rod had been pried open and there were signs of ransacking inside.
After taking inventory, the police found that approximately HK$70,000 in cash, jewellery worth approximately HK$250,000, and a watch were missing from the first house, and eight watches worth approximately HK$150,000 were missing from the second.
The cases were classified as “serial burglaries” and handed over to the fifth team of the Wong Tai Sin Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No arrests have been made yet. It is understood that the stolen cash in the first case consisted of Hong Kong dollars and foreign currencies, while the watch was a Rolex.
