Outward Bound held a reception at the Hong Kong Club recently to celebrate 45 years. Sir David Ackers-Jones, a co-founder, addressed the 130 guests and singled out John Wei, David Lam and Howard Young, who attended the first course in 1970. Outward Bound, on the waterfront off Tai Mong Tsai Rd, was the first outdoor education centre in greater China.
