The Hong Kong Hash House Harriers visited Sai Kung on April 24 for their Anzac Day run.   Led by Grandmaster Sam Cheng, the young and athletic ran an A to B trail marked with flour and chalk, while older or less fit members walked.  The trail began at Hing Keng Shek and meandered — Hash runs are like paper chases — on bush trails through the Pak Kong area before emerging in the town centre. About 30 members turned up for the event, all males as H4 is a traditional Hash, the first in Hong Kong. After Grandmaster Sam administered “down downs” Hazel and Philip of AliOli Bakery handed out pies and sausage rolls to go with the beer.

If you have half a mind to join the Hash, that’s all you need. See www.hkhash.com  The Hong Kong Hash house Harriers run every Monday at 6pm anywhere in Hong Kong. The runs are non-competitive and supposed to be one hour.  As a club it is more social than athletic: run with the same blokes every Monday night then drink beer together for years and they will become close friends.
