Clearwater Bay School was opened in 1992 on its current site by Lady Wilson, the then Governor’s wife. Previously the school had been located at Rose Street, Kowloon, where it was known as Boundary Junior School.

Currently the school is endeavouring to give its 720 kids a well-rounded education covering academic, sporting, social, cultural and emotional development, the Australian headmaster said. The children all come from the school’s district, covering Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay and into the urban area from Tseung Kwan O to Choi Hung. There is a strong sense of community among parents, teachers and children. For the 25th anniversary staff were asked for their thoughts when they first joined compared to what they think now. “I wrote that my first reaction when I joined five years ago was how wonderful the kids are,” Chris said. “Nothing has changed.”

Chris will join children, staff and parents meeting and meeting visitors on Wednesday afternoon. Everyone is welcome, he said.
