Sending your child to the spectacular new Tui Min Hoi kindergarten overlooking the boat harbour will cost about $12,000 a month. The Nord Anglia International Pre-school opened in September in the architecturally distinctive “wedding pavilion”, so called because that is how it was first advertised.

Receptionist Zhang Yaoyao gave SAI KUNG BUZZ the schedule of tuition fees. If you book your child in this month the cost will be: $10,500 per month for the three-hour morning session, $7,500 for the three and half hour afternoon session, $12,000 for an extended day (six and a quarter hours) $13,650 for first year of kindergarten and $15,032 for second year. We were told the average parent is paying $12,000 a month for their child to attend Nord Anglia.
The two-storey premises total 13,396 sq ft and lease at $550,000 plus a month, according to Centaline’s Cassandra Li. Wander through the kindergarten — it was an off-day and no kids were present — and you see it has been beautifully appointed for the little Emperors and Empresses lucky enough to go there. The view of the sea, boats, town and mountains beyond is hard to beat.

Nord Anglia, founded in 1972, now has 46 international schools in 15 countries. It used to be head-quartered in the UK until the board, eyeing expansion in Asia, decided to move to Hong Kong. Locally the institution has an international school at Lam Tin and two kindergartens. The Principal is Brian Cooklin and local Head of School Sarah Harley.
