Bruce Foreman, the Sai Kung photographer and bike tour operator, has ramped up his itinerary for the rest of the year. He is offering cycling packages through the tea fields and roundhouses of Fujian and others in “romantic and exotic Old Asia,” Myanmar.
Tours from 29 September to 7 October and 13 to 21 October costing US$2,280 will cruise through Upper Myanmar. A photo-journalist, Bruce can write. Here’s his description of what people who join the bike rides will see: “Spire-fringed skylines, golden sikaras, crumbling ruins, monks on teak bridges, buddhas and bougainvilleas, cotton trees, temple macaques, bullock carts and horse-drawn carriages — Upper Myanmar is old Asia, romantic and exotic, and a feast for the senses served up with the serenity of travel by bike and boat.”
From 16 to 18 November, Bruce is offering a short tour of the Fujian tea fields and Tulou roundhouses for RMB3,300. He is an expert on South China cycle riding, running these tours for many years now. Bruce is also a foodie who ensures culinary delights along the way. Numbers on tour are limited to 12.
