Carol Biddell and Sandrine Hurabielle-Claverie have sent BUZZ short reports on the clean-up efforts at Tin Mui Hoi, where more volunteers are needed.

On Sunday four of us went to Tin Mui Hoi and collected 20+ bags of mostly polystyrene. We worked for about 2 hours – then it got too hot to carry on. The local old people were happy and supplied us with cold drinks. We have put out a call for volunteers to join us on Tuesday and have had a response and a good number of people should attend. This will only make a small dent in the horrific sea of polystyrene – but every little thing adds up to something big, Perhaps we can make this a regular event.

On Sunday we had Laurence Lanneau,  Summer Ellen, Ah Wai and me. You can use my email address in the post carolfsk@gmail.com if anyone is interested in joining later events.

Fishermen families in Tui Min Hoi need help! Water went up a few metres in the homes that are on the sea (where the Sai Kung boats are moored) during the typhoon and a few families lost everything they have.

They would be grateful for refrigerators and washing machines for the four families that are the most in need. Does anyone have anything to donate? Or would anybody like to help contribute towards the purchase? Contact me on shurabielle@gmail.com
