Motorcycle rider thrown three metres down slope in late night crash

A motorcyclist lost control of his Yamaha R6 600 cc motorcycle as he was driving along Tai Au Mun Road towards Sai Kung around midnight last night. He was approaching  Clear Water Bay Gardens when he lost control on a left hand turn, hit the kerb and was thrown from his bike three metres down the hillside.

The bike skidded along the road for some way, coming to rest leaking oil and petrol over the road. A passing motorist alerted the police. The 23 year-old man was rescued by emergency services personnel who had to abseil down the slope. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital hospital suffering multiple injuries.

The road was blocked for some time while the oil was cleaned away.
