New Auxiliary Bishop Most Rev. Joseph Ha Chi-shing will preside in Sai Kung on Sunday 4 November at the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This is one of the most widely practiced of the Roman Catholic devotions. Jesus Christ’s heart represents His divine love of humanity.

The two Sai Kung priests, Fr Carlo Tei, who is well 83 but still vigorous, and Fr Sergio Tecozzi, his junior assistant, will conduct the service at Sacred Heart Church, Sai Kung, with Bishop Ma. The occasion, beginning at 10:45 am, is described as a Eucharistic Concelebration. In the words of Antonio Cardinal Canizares, “Concelebration, like every Mass, is a divine action in which the Church praises God the Father, to enter in the great mystery of the Trinitarian love: we turn towards our Creator and Redeemer who deifies us and sends us forth so that with his fire we might consume the whole world.”

After the bilingual service, a buffet lunch will be held at nearby Sun Tsun Catholic School Hall. Adults $120. Students and elderly $60. Children under six free. Donation of raffle prizes for the luncheon is welcomed by the Church.
