Two seven-seater passenger vans collided head-on on Sai Sha Road this morning around 1:00 am. The accident happened close to Che Ha village. The driver of the van heading to Sai Kung was trapped in his vehicle and had to be freed by fire crew. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Three passengers in the other van were also treated at the scene and also hospitalised.
Both drivers passed a breathalyser test, and the cause of the crash is under investigation. News reports suggest that one of the drivers complained of fatigue after working long hours and was suspected of falling asleep and driving across the centre line of the road.
