A 27-year-old mainland woman was viciously attacked at Lakeside Gardens around 3:30 am this morning. Her alleged attacker was a 23-year-old local man.
Neighbours alerted the police when they heard loud shouting and screaming. During the argument between the couple, the man picked up a brick from construction waste at the roadside and beat the woman at least ten times on the head and face.
She was found unconscious when the ambulancemen arrived, and they took her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Police arrested the suspected attacker as he was boarding a taxi to Kowloon. His clothes were stained with blood and alcohol. Police are investigating the relationship between the two, and the cause of the incident; the case is investigated by the Crime Squad, Wong Tai Sin District.
